In Loving Memory of Ruth Ann Flirt. A Life of Quiet Grace, Fierce Love, and Unshakable Devotion
With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude, we gather to celebrate the life of Ruth Ann Flirt—our mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and the steady light of our family. She was affectionately known as the heart of our home—the quiet strength behind our joy and the safe place we all returned to.
Ruth Ann was truly an angel who walked this earth—loving without condition, accepting others fully, and wrapping the Cummings and Flirt families in her ever-giving heart. Her love was never loud, but always deep, wrapping you up in peace and assurance.
She carried a grace that didn’t need to speak loudly. Her voice was soft, her eyes kind, and her spirit calm—though she had just enough sass to remind us not to cross the line, especially when lovingly teased by Grandpa Archie or her grandchildren. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel valued and at home.
She found joy in life’s simplest treasures: square dancing at the American Adventure Clubhouse, cooking for her family, and hearing the laughter of little ones in her home. She cherished her country and gospel music, her westerns, and her favorite soap operas—these quiet comforts were part of her peaceful rhythm.
Ruth Ann was a devoted wife to Archie Flirt Sr., her one and only love for nearly 70 years. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion. When Archie Sr. was called home in August, part of her went with him. Now, we find comfort in knowing they are together again—hand in hand, praising Jesus, just as they always did.
She was a loving mother to Ruthie, Archie Jr., David, Scott, and Wesley, whom she carried in her heart always. Her love only multiplied with every grandchild and great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Her face lit up in their presence, and her love wrapped around them in a way only she could give.
Whether playing Kings or Sequence, singing along to old favorites, or simply sitting with a peaceful smile, Ruth Ann Flirt made everyone feel loved. Her home was a sanctuary—a place where warmth, comfort, and belonging came naturally. Her meals could mend any heart; her presence alone made you feel whole.
To know Ruth Ann Flirt and Archie Sr. - it was to witness a rare and beautiful kind of love that was generous, joyful, and steadfast. The lessons they taught us and the ways they lived them out daily are a legacy we are proud to carry forward.
She leaves behind a family that adored her—children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and many more who were blessed to know her. We especially hold in our hearts Archie Jr., David, Ruthie, Veronica, and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who now carry her love into the future.
As we say goodbye, we hold fast to her memory—the laughter, the stories, the faith she lived by, and the love she gave so freely. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit is woven into every family gathering, every song she loved, and every act of kindness passed down in her name.
Rest peacefully, Ruth Ann Flirt You were our strength, our peace, and our home. You taught us how to love with grace, live with intention, and give without expecting anything in return. We will carry your love forward—forever cherished, forever missed, and forever ours.
