Rosanna Wolma

February 17, 1962 — July 7, 2020

Rockport

Rosanna, a beautiful person filled with compassion, bliss and incredible kindness. Born during the mild winter in Texas of 1962 to Velia Almendarez and Jose Garcia and lived a wonderous life before being welcomed by many loving arms on July 7, 2020 into her afterlife.

Rosanna grew up in a huge and loving family, surrounded by 4 siblings, she was the fourth eldest sister of 5 children overall. Rosanna spent much of her childhood with her siblings, sharing birthday celebrations with her baby sister Laura, as there was just a day apart from each of their birthdays, while her older sister Sylvia cared for Rosanna as if she was her own. All of Rosanna’s siblings cared for each other, they took care of their own. In high school Rosanna was part of the Thomas Jefferson ROTC, perhaps this is where Rosanna developed her fierce tenacity of passion towards her views and the people she loved and cared for.

Rosanna’s love for reading started as soon as she could articulate. From a child she could be found curled up with her cat, Tomasina and nose in a book, where she would immerse herself for hours in other worlds—not much changed as an adult, where she would always have her Kindle and fur baby close. Just as Rosanna had a love for reading and her animal companions, she had a beautiful understanding of nature. With 10 green fingers she could bloom anything back to life and it was these blooms that in turn would make her thrive; she was in pure tranquility while amongst her flowers and plants.

Rosanna met Ronald C. Wolma during his service as a police officer in November of 1990, they eventually tied the knot December 9, 2004 where Ron graciously inherited her two daughters, Crystal and Brittney, and Rosanna welcomed his son, Ron Jr. and daughter, Roxann into the family. They had many adventures traveling to places such as Helen, Georgia, road trips throughout the southern United States, and most favored, trips to the lake and camping altogether creating lasting memories for them all.

Rosanna had her dream career; she was a Librarian and was the Children's Coordinator for events and fundraisers. She loved organizing fun crafts and bringing the children of the community together; she absolutely loved reading hour as she got to stimulate the minds of children every day.

Rosanna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She had an immense passion for gardening, reading and her family, and a whole another passion of disdain for milk and peas. Her smile was captivating, paired with a laugh that always emulated pure joy. Her perfect Shirley Temple Ringlet curls, biggest brown eyes and a giggle that would wipe everything else away. She will be DEEPLY missed.

Rosanna, you were taken from us too soon, we thank you for brightening our lives with your smile, your charisma, and your love; we shall meet again.
