Rojelio "Roy" V. Pequeno

December 6, 1946 — November 18, 2023

Aransas Pass

Rojelio Pequeno was born in Donna, TX., on December 6, 1946, and went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2023.

Roy and his father, Enrique Pequeno, had an unspeakable love and respect for one another. His dad was so proud of Roy’s work ethic, and Roy loved working and traveling with him. Everyone who worked with Roy will tell you that he was the hardest worker they had ever known. Roy loved his mother, Maria Segrest, with all his heart and he came to live with her in Aransas Pass in her elderly years.

Roy loved and impacted many family members and friends with his modeling of a Christ-like life. He was a very well-respected, honored, and pious man.

He loved playing his guitar and singing Christian songs, but his favorite song was “I Can Only Imagine”. Roy also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, The Andy Griffin Show, and Gunsmoke. Roy read his Bible and knew God’s Word from cover to cover, he felt it was his mission to share God’s word with others to bring them to Christ.  His favorite scriptures to share them with others were John 3:16 “For God so love the world he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” in John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”. He quoted Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door. I come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”.  Roy’s favorite hymns were Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, and among many Spanish hymns as well.

Roy, we thank you for all your efforts in being an awesome son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. You will be missed by all who were privileged to have known you.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Mary Aleman (Sixto Aleman), Janie Garza (Keith Simon), Diana, Leticia, Nora, Patricia and Maria Elena; brothers, Michael, Ricky, and Rolando Pequeno; many nephews nieces, and cousins.
