Rodney Harold Brown

Rodney Harold Brown, 84, of Ingleside, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026.

Rodney was born on August 8, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, to Raymond Eugene Brown and Marjorie Elaine Brown. He lived a life marked by courage, resilience, dedication, and love for his family.

A proud United States Marine, Rodney served his country honorably for 22 years, including service during the Vietnam War. His distinguished military career earned him numerous commendations, including two Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with three stars, four Purple Hearts, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device (1960), the Bronze Star with "V" Device for Valor, and a Meritorious Mast. His service reflected the bravery, sacrifice, and commitment that defined his character throughout his life.

Rodney was a private man with a strong will and a resilient spirit. Those who knew him appreciated his dry sense of humor, his fun-loving nature, and his unwavering commitment to the people he loved. He believed deeply in the value of hard work and education and encouraged others to pursue success through determination and perseverance.

He especially treasured time spent with family and friends. Rodney enjoyed poker, fishing, reading, snorkeling, and traveling. Whether sharing stories, enjoying a good laugh, or exploring new places, he found joy in life's simple pleasures and created lasting memories with those around him.

Rodney is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Lynn Brown; his son, Alan Quade; his sisters, Barbara Best and Candy Brown; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Eugene Brown and Marjorie Elaine Brown, and his brothers, Gene Brown and Michael Brown.

Rodney's legacy is one of service, strength, loyalty, and love. He faced life's challenges with courage and determination, leaving an enduring impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
