Robert “Bob” Thomas Woodward was born in Concord, Massachusetts, and raised in Westford, Massachusetts. Robert passed away, leaving behind a life marked by curiosity, independence, and quiet humor. He graduated from Westford Academy in 1986 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1986 to 1990. Following his military service, he built a career as a licensed insurance agent, working in the profession for more than 20 years.
Robert had a sharp, inquisitive mind and was naturally drawn to understanding how things worked. He enjoyed working out, biking, gaming, and building computers, often spending hours focused on projects that kept him mentally engaged. He liked trying new recipes and unwinding with movies, usually with popcorn and snacks close by. He was especially known for his skill at Candy Crush, reaching levels beyond 16,000, something he took great pride in.
Friends and family remember Robert “Bob” or “Bobby” as intelligent, compassionate, and funny, with a dry wit that all of his children proudly carry with them. He enjoyed the simplicity of fishing in the quiet ponds of Westford during his younger years and took notable pride in his bike, caring for it with a level of attention that became a familiar and endearing trait.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Woodward (Shiebler), of Vero Beach, Florida; his former wife, Anna Goodman, and their children, Samantha Woodward; Savannah Woodward and her fiancé, Walker McCauley; Tommy Woodward and his fiancée, Cayori Williams; and David Woodward.
He is also survived by his three older sisters who loved their little brother “Bobby”: Diane Doolin (Woodward) and her husband Joseph “Joe” Doolin of Rochester, New York; their son Josh Doolin and his wife Lisa, and their children Daphne and Cora; daughters Erin, Megan, Kaitlin, and Tarah Doolin; Elaine Tiber (Woodward) and her husband Kevin Tiber of Aliso Viejo, California, and their daughters Christina Tiber and Jessica Tiber and her husband Andrew Freeman; and Marlene Gatsios (Woodward) and her husband Charlie Gatsios of Worcester, Massachusetts, and their children Evan, Clara, and Alexandra Hamilton (Gatsios) and her husband Clif, and their daughter Natalia.
Robert is also survived by his aunt, Eleanor (Woodward) Ballard; aunts and uncles Dorothy Shiebler and Paul Shiebler and his wife Connie; Mary (Cavana) Shiebler, all of New England; Joseph Shiebler of Washington, D.C.; as well as many cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Marcellus Woodward (1936–2018); his aunt Isabel Shiebler; and his uncle Anthony “Tony” Shiebler.
