Robert Brooks Dye, 78 of Aransas Pass, TX, retired Sergeant First Class of the United States Army passed away on October 23, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents: O.V. Dye Jr., Myrtle Andrews-Dye and his brothers Carlton and Drew Dye.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debbie, his kids: Jennifer Thurman (Robert), Brandy Luke, Samantha Williams, Daniel Kratavil, Robin Frye (Charles) and Gina Dye, his grandchildren: Breanna Gonzales (Carter), Madison Torres (Joshua), Caleb Gutierrez (Audrey), Robby Thurman, Larissa Gutierrez, Kellan Kratavil, Makayla Frye and Myles Dye, his siblings Jim, Ronald, Sue and George Anna, his aunts/uncles: Gloria, Linda and Mack and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born October 31, 1947, in Rockport, TX, Bob answered the call to serve his country in 1972 enlisting in the Army. He served 20 years including two tours in Germany, and stationed in various states (LA, VA, CO). He was honorably discharged in 1992.

After his service, Bob returned to his hometown of Rockport, TX where he worked for 30 years at HEB. Also, a Master Mason, he embodied a blend of moral integrity, fraternal spirit, and a commitment to personal and societal improvement, grounded in principles of brotherly love, and truth.

A funeral service with military honors will be held on November 2, 2026, at 12pm at Charlie Marshalls Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Burial at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local Masonic Lodge or Schriners International.
