Robert Charles Dominguez, 55 passed away January 2, 2022. He was born February 19, 1966 in Rockport, Texas to Jose L. Dominguez and Maria Oralia Dominguez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Guillermo and Natalia Dominguez, Dominga Covarrubias and Estevan Garcia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse M. and Janice M. Scott.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Shelley Dominguez; sons, Robert Scott Dominguez (Whitney), Nicholas Reed Dominguez, Joel Conner Dominguez; siblings, Joe Dominguez (Cathy) of Nebraska, Corrina Fort (John) of Austin, Nellie Dole (Dennis) of Idaho, George Dominguez (Vanessa) of Oklahoma, Velina Volz, Delfina Walker, Gloria Scott (Jesse), Andy Dominguez (Jennifer) all of Rockport; numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Robert grew up in Rockport, TX. He always knew that he wanted to help people, and he fulfilled that calling by becoming a Texas State Game Warden. He retired after over 30 years of service of protecting Texas’ wildlife and natural resources. Many people he met throughout his career became his life-long friends. He rescued numerous people throughout his career and was named Game Warden of the Year in 2015 by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. He loved his career, but even more, he loved his family.
His wife, Shelley, was the most important person in his life. He always made sure to show her how much he loved her. They raised three sons, Scott, Nick, and Joel, who loved their Dad and knew he loved them. When their sons looked at their parents, they knew what love was. No matter what it took, he always took care of his family.
He was a good friend to many people and made an impact on everyone that was lucky enough to know him. He had a tough exterior at times, but his true friends and family knew what a softy he was. He had an infectious personality and was the life of the party. He knew how to make everyone feel welcome. There was no other man like him. There are no words to say how much he will be missed, nor how much happiness his memories will bring.
Funeral service conducted by Pastor Jonathan Leftwich will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral, Rockport. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.
