Ingleside

Riley F Clark, 87, of Ingleside on the Bay, TX (formerly West Monroe, LA) passed away on February 5, 2023, peacefully at home. He was born in Hodge, LA on August 4, 1935. Riley graduated from Jonesboro-Hodge High School and studied to be an Electrician at Ouachita Vocational School, West Monroe, LA. He was married on March 2, 1956 to Marie Hughes Clark (his best friend and love of his life).

He is survived by his wife, Marie Clark; children; Connie Amsden, daughter; Pat Amsden, son-in-law; Kelvin Clark, son; and Lodema Clark, daughter-in-law; grandchildren, Jennifer Amsden Oswald (David), Austin Amsden (Marsha), Jonathan Amsden (Alicia), Katie Amsden Smith (James), Kelly Amsden Bulot (Brad), Darrell Clark (Angela), and Darren Clark (Amanda); 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 1/2 great-great grandchildren. Also, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney Clark and Ruby Jordan Clark, and his three sisters, Billie Jean Spillman, Frances Trim, and Mavis Hughes.

Riley was an electrical supply salesman for Stuart C Irby (formerly Collins Electric) and retired February 27, 1998. However, he never felt retired because the staff were all his second family. He was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church and cherished his church family. Riley loved his family, friends, gardening, fishing, and football.

Riley loved and was very proud of his children, all seven of his grandchildren, great-grands, and great-great-grands. He always kept a big garden and generously shared his bounty. He loved to fish and watch football. He loved the Lord. Sunday was his favorite day of the week since it was his day of church, rest, family, friends, and football. He never met a meal that he did not like. He always saw the best in everyone and never met a stranger. He was always ready with a corny joke and a big laugh. He loved staying in touch with family and friends. He also loved his South Texas home and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Ingleside, Texas.

Pallbearers: Austin Amsden, Darren Clark, David Oswald, Daniel Copes, Pat Amsden, Jimmy Poisso

A graveside service will be held at Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman, LA
