Robert Edward (Ted) Whitlock, Jr. passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Austin, Texas. Ted was born January 7, 1929 in Austin and grew up there. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, rising to the rank of Sergeant. After his service, he returned to Austin and attended the University of Texas. Ted had a long career in the brokerage business in Austin and Fort Worth. Upon retirement, he moved to Rockport where he joined AA and embraced the AA community. He became a mentor to many and shared his commitment to the support group with a passion.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Williams and her husband, Thomas J. Williams of Fort Worth; son, Robert Edward (Bob) Whitlock III and his wife, Cynthy Whitlock of Austin and stepson, Harold Summers of Fort Worth. He also leaves seven grandchildren: Emily, Alan and Clark Williams, Elena and Leah Whitlock and Kruger and Adelaide Summers.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, February 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 555 Enterprise Blvd, Rockport, TX. Burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery
