It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Pedro (Pete) F. Tijerina,80, of Aransas Pass, Texas, on September 6, 2024. He was born in Victoria, Texas, on August 29th, 1944, to parents, Jesus and Nicholasa Tijerina.
Pete was a self-made man, he attended grade school in Aransas Pass and made many friends for life. He was studious and attended Del Mar College Welding Technical school. Pete married the love of his life Nellie on June 20, 1962.
Pete began his career as a laborer working for Gulf Coast Marine, he later worked with Brown and Root, Harbor Island as a Welding Forman for one of the largest crew. He was a member of the local catholic church, and as a child was an altar boy. Pete had many passions including music, motorcycles, sports, fast cars, and trucks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Nicholasa Tijerina; sister, Mary Martinez; great-grandson, Alexander Silva.
Left to carry on his memories are his children, Terry (John) Tijerina-Milam, Pedro (Kimberly) Tijerina, and Paula (Kevin) Jones; grandchildren, Pete Tijerina Jr., Cassidy (Tyler) Evans, Tyler (Logan) Tijerina, and Jacquelyn Tijerina; great-grandchild, Bonnie Grace Tijerina.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home of Aransas Pass. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Aransas Pass. Interment to follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
