It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paula Herrera on August 5, 2023 at 80 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose radiant spirit left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Paula shared 58 years of enduring love and companionship with her devoted spouse Trinidad Herrera Jr. until his passing on July 25, 2021.
A true matriarch, Paula's heart was filled with love for her family. Her fondest moments were those spent surrounded by her loved ones, whether it was joyfully celebrating milestones, sharing heartfelt conversations during family gatherings, or embarking on delightful adventures together. Paula's love and nurturing spirit enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of being part of her family circle.
Paula was not only a dedicated family woman, but also an integral part of the family's concrete business. Her unwavering support and hard work contributed to the success and growth of the business, a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication.
The strains of mariachi music held a special place in Paula's heart, bringing her joy and comfort throughout her life. In her earlier years, she was known for her graceful moves on the dance floor, leaving a trail of cherished memories with every step. Paula's playful spirit was also evident in her love for playing marbles, a joyful pastime that added a touch of nostalgia to her life.
Late-night trips to Whataburger were a cherished tradition for Paula and her spouse. These outings provided a perfect opportunity for quiet moments together, sharing stories and savoring the simple pleasures of life.
As we say goodbye to Paula Herrera, we celebrate a life filled with boundless love, unwavering dedication, and countless treasured memories. May her spirit find eternal peace, and may her memory forever illuminate our lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Trinidad Herrera, Jr.; sister, Carolina Jimenez; 8 brothers, Jacinto, Julio, Ramiro, Gilbert, Ramon, Jesse, Joe, and Alejandro Adame; son- in-law, Alberto Flores.
Paula's legacy lives on through her 4 sons, Trinidad Herrera III, Gavino (Mandy) Herrera, Fidel Herrera, and Paul (Rachel) Herrera; 6 daughters, Lou (Roy) Perez, Amanda (Angela) Herrera, Paula Flores, Carmen (Rick) Herrera, Geneva (Jerry) Herrera, and Daisy Herrera all of Aransas Pass, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren who were blessed to be part of her life. Her love, wisdom, and nurturing nature will continue to shape and guide her family for generations to come.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. A prayer service will be the same evening at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside, Texas.
