Paul Holter

Paul Carroll Holter, 88 years of age, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021, with his beloved wife of 66 years by his side. He was born on November 27, 1932 in Racine, Ohio to Dale and Freda Holter.

Paul proudly served in the US Air Force, and enjoyed many years of retirement at the Holter Hacienda in Marion, Texas before relocating to Rockport, Texas. Paul and Mary enjoyed traveling in their RV, but above all Paul enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid photographer, and captured countless images of the family as they traveled the world. He loved to tell stories and was especially fond of sharing family history with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is especially well known for his huge hugs, and his ability to find a way to connect with people and engage in interesting discussions (sometimes at length).

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty Vale; son in law Larry Kowalik, and grandson Paul C. Holter III.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Holter; sons Paul Holter, Jr. (Tina M.), Bruce Holter (Tina R.) and Stephen Holter (Liz); daughter, Lori Pavlish; grandchildren Tanya Holter (Roland Reeves), Trent Oswalt (Jennifer), Aaron Pavlish (Brittney), Megan Holter (Sonia), Sam Holter and great grandchildren Bella, Gus, Taylor, Kenzie, Connor, Wesley, Clayton and Blair. Paul and Mary’s four-legged child Bebe will miss spending quality time with her dad.

Paul was blessed with life-long friendships and family whom he cherished. Thanks to each of you for your calls, notes and compassion as he made his way through his last months with us.

A private family celebration of life will be held.
