April 30, 1942 — November 27, 2021

Rockport, Texas

Patricia Lynne Richie, 79, of Rockport, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on November 27, 2021. ‘Lynne’ was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and was married to her high school sweetheart and fishing buddy, Charles ‘Charlie’ Richie, for over 60 years.

As newlyweds living in Houston, Lynne and Charlie started growing a family and after the birth of their two daughters and son, moved to Lake Livingston, Texas for a slower-paced life in Lake Livingston, Texas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening while Charlie worked as a professional fishing guide. They started Backwoodsman Magazine in 1980 while still in Texas, and moved to Colorado in 1988 where they spent the next few decades building their magazine and enjoying life in the Rocky Mountains.

Their passion for fishing ultimately brought them back to Texas in 2007 where she and Charlie lived along the Gulf Coast and enjoyed the fruits of their labor by going to various casinos and sailing around to exotic locations on numerous cruises. Despite her health failing in recent years, Lynne continued spending time with her family, pets, and fishing with Charlie until his untimely passing.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Alta Heinze of Katy, TX, and her brother Bradley White of Sacramento, CA; her three children, Robin Stewart of Spring, TX, Charlene Mohrle of Santa Barbara, CA and Charles E. Richie, Jr. of Santa Fe, NM; two nephews, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Richie, her sister, Glenda Adler, and her great granddaughter, Layla Loera.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
