Patricia McMahan

Patricia Kay McMahan of Rockport, Tx went to be with the Lord on May 19 2026. She was 80 years old. Kay was born on October 17 1945 in Hobbs New Mexico to Lena Byfield and Oren Fry. Kay was exceptionally gifted in crafting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, jewelry making, wedding planning and so much more. She was dedicated in helping others in any way she could. She took pride in teaching crafting. Kay was resilient, respected and successful Mary Kay consultant. Kay worked as a truck driver and taxi driver.

March 1988 - June 1999 Kay worked as a Dispatcher in Aransas County Sheriff’s Office. June 1973 - October 1990 she worked as a Secretary/Treasurer, Co-Owner, Bookkeeper at McMahan Electronics Security. June 1977 - January 1988 she worked as an Office Manager/Bookkeeper at Norman Scott, Inc. DBA Little Bay Club in Rockport Texas. May 2006 she worked as Bookkeeper - Substance Abuse Treatment Facility in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Kay dedicated her life with hope of any news concerning her brother who fought in the Korean War and was MIA. Every year until her passing Kay and her late husband Bruce McMahan will fly out to Washington DC for families of soldiers missing from the Korean War POW/MIA. She even continued to travel to DC after her late husband passing. Kay was a member of the New beginnings ministry Church of Rockport, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce McMahan, her mother Lena Byfield, Father Oren Fry, her brother who bravely lost his life in the Korean War, her daughter Nicole Cooper. She is survived by her grandchildren Tanner Cooper and Harley Cooper. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 4-6pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Tx. with a funeral service Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rockport Cemetery.
