Nalda Louise Sullivan, 95, of Ingleside on the Bay, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Portland, Texas.
Nalda was born on January 16, 1930, in Corsicana, Texas, to the late Homer and Katie Bell Crawford. Proud of her heritage, Nalda carried her Native American roots with honor throughout her life. On January 14, 1947, she married the love of her life, Roy Eugene "Gene" Sullivan Sr., in Fort Worth, Texas. Together, they shared over 60 years of love, devotion, and partnership, raising three children with deep affection and unwavering support.
A dedicated wife and mother, Nalda co-owned and operated Sullivan's Crane and Rigging Co. alongside her husband, children, and grandson. Their family business thrived for 53 years before they retired in 2019. Nalda's passion for family extended beyond the workplace-she was known for her exceptional cooking, love of travel, and wholehearted dedication to those she loved.
She was a proud member of the Foretravel and Family Motor Coach Association and proudly traveled across many U.S. states. In her final years, she lived by the ocean, enjoying the tranquility of coastal life. Each morning, she could be found on the deck swing, watching dolphins and embracing the beauty around her. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law in a beautiful split-level home that allowed her both companionship and independence-a time filled with joy, peace, and cherished moments.
Nalda was truly one of a kind. Her warmth, strength, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Eugene (Gene) Sullivan Sr.; her parents, Homer and Katie Bell Crawford; her son, James William (Jim) Sullivan; her sister, Frances Pauline Goode; and her granddaughter, Tammy Sullivan.
