Port Aransas

Molly Morgan Nixon age 73 passed away April 19, 2022 after courageously battling her illness.

Molly was born December 23, 1948 to Arnold O'Neal and Martha Morgan.  She graduated from King High School with honors in 1966.

She met her soul mate John D Nixon, Jr on her many summer visits to her family's beach house here in Port Aransas.   The day she turned 18 they eloped and started their lives together that lasted 55 years.

Molly and John have 3 children Polly Ayala (Peter), Neal Nixon, and Mark Nixon (Francisca).

Molly loved her life on the water working beside her husband.  She was the Classiest Shrimper on the water.  They built and operated the PollyAnna which is a local icon.  She enjoyed the kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews all working beside her selling the shrimp they had caught the night before.  It was called "Camp PollyAnna".

Molly and John loved to travel.  Cruising was their favorite.  But she would get her Vegas trips in too.

Molly was known for her shopping abilities.  She was a born shopper.  Molly also loved to talk, she would tell you stories that lasted forever, and we would all listen.  Molly had a very prominent sweet tooth.  Her cakes had more icing than cake! Her pets had a very special place in Molly's heart. She loved them all.

Molly is survived by her husband John D Nixon, Jr, and her three children Polly Ayala (Peter), Neal Nixon, and Mark Nixon (Francisca). Grandchildren Savanna Savage (Taylor), Caitlin Nixon, Rawley Nixon, Amy Ayala, J.D. Ayala, and Lilly Nixon.  Sister-in-law Nettie Wood (Danny) and brother-in-law Thomas Nixon.  Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that she loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents Arnold O'Neal and Martha Morgan, her infant son John D Nixon, III, her brother Trey Morgan and her "sister in life" Shirley Ann Nixon.
