Miguel Sierra López, 75, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 after recent medical complications. He is now joyfully reunited with his beloved wife, Guadalupe García López.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his children, Marizela, Miguel, and Grizelda, and his five grandchildren (James, Tessa, Emilio, Michael, and Lazarus).
Miguel lived life fully, with his family as his greatest accomplishment. He possessed an infectious personality that could light up any room. With a genuine desire to connect with others, he made people smile effortlessly, and everyone left his presence feeling better for having shared a laugh or conversation.
A skilled tradesman, he was well-known in the community for his work as a painter, which is evident by the Texas courthouse renovations in Goliad, Goldthwaite, Groveton, Sarita, Falfurrias, Cotulla, and his final project restoring the historic Fulton Mansion. His personal story of dedication was celebrated when the Rockport Pilot featured him in 2015, honoring his journey as a Mexican immigrant who achieved U.S. citizenship in the 1990s.
Miguel will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in perfect peace, finally beside his wife.
