Melinda Lee Williams, 61, of Rockport, Texas, formerly of Austin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2025.

Born on November 2, 1963, in Houston, Melinda was a 1981 graduate of Del Valle High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University. Throughout her life, Melinda brought warmth, dedication, and laughter to every path she walked — from her work in property management and office administration to the many lives she touched outside of work.

Melinda loved the coast — especially fishing in Rockport and spending peaceful days at the beach. Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life, and she lived each day with a strong spirit, a giving heart, and a deep love for helping others. She will be remembered for her strength, her wit, her kindness, and the joy she so freely shared.

She is survived by her beloved son, Zachary Williams, whom she loved deeply and was endlessly proud of; her sister, Michelle Hickey; and her father, James Hickey. Melinda’s legacy lives on through them and through the many people who were blessed by her presence.

At this time, there will be no memorial service. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to remember Melinda in their own special ways — by offering kindness to others, enjoying the beauty of nature, or simply smiling in her memory.
