Mary Jane Remitz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Jane Remitz, who peacefully left us on December 12, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 7, 1940, in Laona, Wisconsin, Mary Jane filled the lives of those around her with warmth, laughter, and joy.

Mary Jane was a proud graduate of Columbus High School and went on to attend St. Norbert College, where she embraced her love for learning and community. On August 27, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Remitz, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and adventures. Together, they created a beautiful family, raising four wonderful sons: Michael, Rick, Jay, and Rob.

Mary Jane was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, Texas, where her faith and compassion touched countless lives. She found immense joy in her favorite pastimes, which included playing golf, walking, and engaging in spirited games of bridge and mahjong with friends. She was always the life of the party, lighting up the room with her infectious smile and zest for life.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ernest and Joyce Meress, and her dear brother, Ernest Meress Jr. Mary Jane leaves behind her cherished husband, James, four sons, seven grandchildren, and her brother, Dr. Steve Meress, all of whom will carry on her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort in the beautiful memories we shared and the love she instilled in all of us. Rest in peace, dear Mary Jane; you will forever be in our hearts.
