"Pinky" Mary Agnes Campbell passed away peacefully, January 24, 2019 in Portland, Texas with Family members by her side. Pinky was born December 20, 1930 to August & Martha Barganski, in Portland, Texas. She married Douglas Campbell on June 6, 1953, and they had six children.
She was involved with the VFW Post 6386 in Ingleside for over 50 years, she served on boards, committees and held office on the state level. She belonged to Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside. She loved the church that "she helped build" with many meals for Father Dougherty and other workers. She was involved in all parts of the church from Alter Society, Bar- B- Ques to bookkeeper, wherever she was needed.
Pinky was a force to be reckoned with, if you need something done, cooked or donated, she was the one many people called. Her Grand kids loved her fried chicken, eggnog, shrimp salad and basically anything that she cooked. The more people she cooked for the happier she was. We all gave her a hard time, but she truly knew that it was out of love and respect for her. She will be missed more than she would expect. Her family was the apple of her eye. If you asked names she would name everyone (which included spouses), tell you birth dates & tell you how old everyone is.
She's survived by one daughter Edith (David) West of Ingleside, and five sons, Charlie (Sissy) Campbell of Ingleside, David (Quana) Campbell of Strawn, Vincent Campbell, James (Janet) Campbell all of Taft and Milton Campbell of New Castle, TX. 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great-grandchildren and one Great great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and adoptees.
Pall bearers will be her Grandsons, Joshua, Tyrel, Colt, Chance, Daron, Boone and Pete Campbell and Walker West.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., with Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home located in Aransas Pass, Texas. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2019 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside. Burial will follow at The Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas.
