Mary Ellen Bishop, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on September 5, 1932, in Coyle Township, Oklahoma, Mary was the youngest of seven children born to Lizzie and W.H. Cannon.

Mary’s life was a testament of love and devotion. In 1955, she married the love of her life Johnny Bishop. Their marriage spanned 60 wonderful years until his passing. Together they built a loving home and raised two daughters, Barbara(Walt) and Debbie(Vic), who survive her. She is also survived by four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

A dedicated homemaker, Mary spent her life nurturing those around her. Her hands were rarely idle, always busy sewing, crocheting, or gardening.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Harbor Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Mary’s final days.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 I-37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
