Obituary

Martha Vaughan went to be with the Lord and Savior on September 7, 2026, in Abilene, Texas. Martha was born August 27, 1958, in Aransas Pass, Texas. Her parents were Jose R. and Elena B. Gutierrez. Martha graduated from Aransas Pass in 1976. Martha graduated from Corpus Christi State University. Martha spent over 20 years teaching Algebra and Geometry in Austin, Texas. She loved imparting her knowledge to her students. Her students knew that if they needed additional help, Mrs. Vaughan was there for them. 

Martha married the love of her life, Edward Vaughan, on January 12, 1980. They enjoyed many trips together. Martha's favorite place to visit was Estes Park, Co. Ed and Martha would spend their summers there. Martha enjoyed making cards for family and friends. You could count on receiving a special card made especially for you on your birthday. 

Martha was preceded in death by her parents.

Martha is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edward Vaughan; also survived by her sisters, Gloria Gonzales, Vickie Abrego, Alice (Eliazar) Barrera, Lucy (Craig); and brothers, Gilbert (Dolores) Guietterez and Joe (Irma) Guietterez. Martha is also survived by her brother-in-law, Mal (Fran) Vaughan, and sister-in-law, Sally (Rich) Coleman; along with nieces, nephews, and many cousins

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment to follow at Aransas Memorial Park Cemetery.
