Martha Frances Rhodes, a cherished matriarch and vibrant spirit, departed this life in quiet grace on August 28, 2026, in Corpus Christi, TX, at the age of 99. Born January 15, 1927, in Fayetteville, AK, to Ira and Erie Grime, Martha's journey was one of love and adventure.

She wed Captain Clarence Rhodes on January 8, 1948, in Kansas, sharing a life filled with military travels to Roswell, NM; Guam; and New Jersey, where their chapter in service concluded in 1961. Their hearts found a home in Texas, first in Rockport then Portland, where they built a life surrounded by warmth.

Martha nurtured beauty in her garden, her roses a testament to her loving touch. Her remarkable career as a Real Estate Agent, Broker, and Property Manager spanned over five decades, serving her community with dedication. On Tuesdays, laughter accompanied her as she shuffled cards at Bridge, while her creativity flourished in sewing and crafting with her daughter, Kelli. From 1966 to 1981, she extended her welcome to newcomers in Portland through her role in the Welcome Wagon.

Her legacy continues through her son, Joseph Rhodes of Portland, and daughter, Kelli Rae Edsal (John) of Florida. Her spirit shines in her grandsons, Mike, John, David Rhodes, and Jeremy Unruh; granddaughter, Laura White (Jamie) and their children, Gunner and Annabelle; along with her many beloved great-grandchildren. Martha is lovingly remembered by daughters-in-law Susan and Judy Rhodes.

Reuniting with her husband, Clarence, son, Michael Rhodes, and her eight siblings, she rests in peace. Though services will be private, Martha's radiant life and love leave an enduring legacy.
