Maria De La Luz Rocha

Sep 22, 1972 — Jul 27, 2026

Aransas Pass

Maria De La Luz Rocha passed away on July 27, 2026. She was 53 years old. She was born in Tula Tamps, Mexico on September 22, 1972 to Gabino Barron, Sr. and Casimirina Barron Padilla.

She spent most of her life in Aransas Pass, Texas that is where she met and married Guadalupe Rocha, Sr., and they raised their 4 children together. She worked for Pep’s Mexican Steakhouse in Portland, Texas for over 25 years, and she loved the people she was able to work with and loved cooking for the community.

She enjoyed Gardening, going to the gym, dancing, Mexican cokes, and cooking. She loved cooking Thanksgiving food in June or whenever she wanted, and so did her children; they especially loved the dressing. Her children would ask for the ingredients of some of her recipes, but she would not share them with them. She always wanted her food she cooked special for them, and she made it full of her love. Her children said that when she walked into the room, she would completely light the room up. Her middle name means in the light.

She was sweet, funny, outgoing, and welcoming, and she had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Gabino Barron, Sr.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Luis Eduardo Rocha (Savannah), Maria Guadalupe Rocha, Irela Rocha, and Alexander Rocha all of Aransas Pass, Texas; mother, Casimirina Barron-Padilla, siblings, Elena Barron, Guillermina Barron, Adrian Barron, Armando Barron (Lissette), and Gabino Barron, Jr.; grandchildren, Kristopher Rocha, KyLeigh Coggins, Nikolas Rocha, Dominik Rocha, and Giovanni Gauthreaux; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; her furry kids, Frutsi, and Arya; special friend, Lady, and Jose Hernandez and all of her Pep’s Mexican Steakhouse family.
