With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Maria D. Garza, who passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 85, Maria was a longtime resident of Aransas Pass and was deeply loved by her family and friends.

 She is survived by her loving children, Hector Garza, Griselda Small, and William Palafox. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Austin, and Ireland Small, Rowan,and Aiden Palafox, and a beloved great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren.

 She found joy in cooking for those she loved. Maria was also an animal lover who found peace and happiness in caring for animals. Her compassion, and caring heart extended to all living things, and her gentle spirit was reflected in the kindness she showed throughout her life.Maria’s love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Her memories, the love she shared, and the lessons she passed down will remain with her family forever.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are grateful for the 85 years of love, wisdom, and memories she shared with us. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
