Maria Alicia Garcia “May” Age 84, Passed in Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Maria was born in Gregory, Texas on September 1, 1940. She was the daughter of Pablo and Aurora Del Toro.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother: Adolpho Del Toro. Maria married Jeronimo Bazan Garcia on October 24, 1961. They were blessed to celebrate 63 years of marriage. They were their first loves. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was active in the community and in the church as leader of the prayer group, choir, and the Charismatic Renewal. She started The Ladies Auxiliary of the Gregory Fire Dept. Maria is survived by her husband Jeronimo Bazan Garcia, of Gregory, Texas.
Her 5 children: Yolanda (Issa) Ghandour of Pasadena, Tx, Jane (Greg) Pearson of Waukegan, Il, Kimberly (Johnny) Rea of San Patricio County, Adolph (Crystal) Garcia of St. Paul, Tx. Lorreta (Brian) Reay of Washington, Il. She loved her 16 Grandchildren: Eric Garcia, Mark Garcia, Adrian Ghandour, Valerie Spinell, Katherine Suarez, Richard Suarez, John Rea, Kevin Rea, Kaylee Rea, Tiffany Garcia, Madelyne Garcia, Courtnie Faron, Tyler Westbay, Dalton Westbay, Tristen Westbay, Tyler Reay and her 13 Great Grandchildren.
She was very crafty and creative. She was a wonderful care giver. She loved to crochet, sew, design jewelry, and antiquing. She owned a Boutique and, she had an Antique Shop for many years. She also enjoyed writing, drawing, gardening, painting and cake decorating. She loved to travel and go to the casinos. She loved birds, especially her double Yellow Head parrot, Helen Roper. The Rosary will be recited at the Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday April 15, 2025, at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. Wednesday April 16, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church Gregory Texas. Burial to follow, where she will be laid to rest at Gregory Cemetery with funeral reception at the Parish Hall. On Behalf of the Garcia Family, we thank you for your prayers and condolences.
