Margaret Shedd Stanley passed away March 1, 2022. She was 92 years old. She was born January 14, 1930 in Estes, Texas to Frank and Frances Shedd. On December 21, 1946 she married William (Bill) Stanley after only knowing each other for 2 weeks. They loved for 54 years prior to Bills passing in 2000. They lived in Aransas Pass most of their married lives. They had 5 daughters and 1 son.
She is preceded in death by her mother and dad; her beloved husband Bill; her baby daughter, Karen Sue Stanley; granddaughters, Tosha Shaw, and Jenna Hernandez; great-grandson, Cliff Spaeth. She also had her sisters Inez Barnes and Bonnie Rockwell to meet her at Heavens Gates and many, many aunts, uncles, and other loved ones.
Margaret is survived by daughters, Brenda Ping, Donna Lanier (William), Margaret Ann Sullinger (Tom), Susan Barry, and her favorite son, William "Billy" (MaDonna) Stanley. Margaret is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Tammy Schweizer, Mark Lewis, Phillip Glud, Shelley Adame, Lisa Abney, Melissa Sullinger, James Stanley, Lindsey Reeves, Karen Heimann, William Stanley, Russell Stanley, Trisha Holguin, Christopher Stanley, Amber Herr, Jennifer Alvarez, and Robert Lanier; 46 great-grandkids; 40 great-great grandkids. Her surviving brothers are Leonard and Earl Shedd, and RD Stanley.
Margaret was a devout Christian accepting her Lord at the age of 14. She attended and raised her children at the Nazarene Church and in her last years she attended Agape Fellowship. She made sure her grandkids, kids, and as many greats attend church by picking them up and taking them with her. She took them home for treet grated up, with mayonnaise and pickles sandwiches. They will all remember it for life. It was awesome grandma time.
Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, and type of craft, painting. She made everyone Afghans, hats, scarfs, and baby sweaters and hoodies. She sewed for the girls and made wedding dresses, cakes, and pageant dresses. She did cross stitch and made many beautiful pieces for her family.
She had a busy career as well along with raising her family. She cooked for Aransas Hospital, managed Fabrific Fabric store, and was co-owner of City Taxi.
The family would like to thank Pastors. Steve Trout and Towanda Martin for all their love and service.
A very special thank you and appreciation of all the care her granddaughter, Tammy Schweizer did for 3 years. She unselfishly gave her time and took wonderful care of her Granny. Thanks to her husband, Darril also.
Pall Bearers are her grandsons; Mark Lewis, Phillip Glud, James Stanley, William Stanley, Russell Stanley, and Christopher Stanley.
Honorary Pall Bearers are Darril Schweizer and John Hanson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm all at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
