November 11, 1931 — May 24, 2025

Rockport

Lucy Gottschalk, age 93, passed away peacefully and entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2025, in Rockport, Texas, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Born on November 11, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, Lucy was the beloved daughter of Jose and Delfina Navarro. She was one of many siblings and shared deep, loving relationships with them all: Stella Juarez, Pete Longoria, Rose Gottschalk, Gloria Hoekstra, Delfina Winegeart, Mary Lou Baker, Joe Charles Navarro, Mary Helen Diefenderfer, John Robert Navarro, and Phillip Navarro.

Lucy was a devoted mother to three beautiful children and their spouses: Dennis Gottschalk, Terry and Donna Gottschalk, Wanda Gottschalk and Mike Brasseal. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren and their spouses: Sheri Sowa and Brad Abbott, Jessica and Sam Shaver, Ethan and Stratton Gottschalk, Christopher and Jo Gottschalk, Kimberly Gottschalk, Nicole Gottschalk, Blake and Alicia Wenzel, Heather and Daniel Bandy, Kimberly and Andrew Lambas. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Travis and Kyle Sowa, Maddox and Dakota Shaver, Michael Valdez, Caleb and Faith Bandy, John Burton, Henry, and Mary.

Lucy was a strong, kind-hearted woman who loved fiercely and lived fully. She was never afraid to stand up for herself or for those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth and laughter—where card games, puzzles, and word searches were shared with joy, and where her signature enchiladas brought the family together time and time again.

A gifted cook, a devoted sister, a nurturing mother, and a deeply loving grandmother and great-grandmother, Lucy played an essential role in the lives of every generation of her family. Her presence shaped the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving a lasting legacy of love, resilience, and unity.

She was loved by many and will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the unwavering love she gave to all who knew her.

Now at peace and in heaven, Lucy joins those who went before her, watching over the family she so dearly cherished.
