Graduated from Alamo Heights High School, San Antonio with a Swimming Scholarship to Ohio State. Met Dora Ladrach at Ohio State, his wife for 61 years - Graduated Florida State Univ. Entered Active Duty US Army as Air Defense Officer stationed in MD, transferred to Medical Service Corps in 1967.

He was a Viet Nam Vet, and in Iran during and after Khomeini's return. Highlights other than military achievements included Swim Coach at Ft Leavenworth and organizing and coaching the Swim Team Augsburg Otters, along with Scouting activities at various assignments..

After retirement and 26 years on active duty - it was his turn to support Dora's career. He enjoyed the time he was able to spend fishing and hunting with his Father in San Antonio. Moving to Rockport, he was active in supporting the Art Center, Aransas County Humane Society, serving on the Aransas County Stormwater Management Committee, supporting and being a docent at the Aquarium, helping and guiding AARP Tax Aide for many years.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell E and Josephine C McKelvey. He is survived by his loving wife, Dora, Brother, Thomas (Sallie), Nephews, Michael (Beth), their children, and Joel (Cathi), their children. Also survived by a Brother-in-law, Fred Ladrach (Andrea) and his family and other nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston
