Louis Earl Guilbeau was born September 11, 1948 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Joseph Wiley and Elva Mae Guilbeau. Earl passed peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1966 and then went to Sam Houston State College in Huntsville, Texas where he was in the ROTC and received a degree in Math. After graduation, Earl enlisted in the Army as a 2nd lieutenant. After his time in the military, he taught at Mae Allen Jr. High in Aransas Pass. Later, he worked for several construction firms as an estimator.
Earl resided in Aransas Pass, Texas after retirement and was a faithful member of the Aransas Pass Church of Christ.
Throughout his life, Earl enjoyed vehicles, especially the Mustang he owned as a teen and the trucks he owned over the past several years. Earl really enjoyed the outdoors. He also owned some boats and enjoyed fishing. Earl was also a good hunter. For many years, Earl worked with his father to find rocks and shaped them into beautiful jewelry and clocks. He also was a devoted pet owner-- first to his dogs and lastly to his adopted cats.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Hellen Marie Guilbeau Martin(Barry) of Chandler, Texas. He is also survived by his nieces, Michelle Martin and Tiffany Brown(Paul); and their two children, nephew Scott Martin and his son Nicholas Martin. In addition, he is survived by cousins, Nancy Vaught(Alvin), A. C. Blunt(Carrie), Sherry Blunt Burk, Tammy Kelley, Gary Blunt, Joe Bob Moore(Linda), and James Moore(Sherry).
The family wishes to thank Rosa and Yvonne Jones for all the help they gave Earl over the years as well as the staff at New Century Rehab.
Services to honor Earl will be led by Donny D’Herde on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass.
