Lois S. Atwood, age 90, of Rockport, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born on July 5, 1936, in Miles City, Montana, Lois spent her life in various states including New Mexico, Colorado, and Nebraska before settling in Texas, where she lived for 65 years. In 1967, she married Stephen W. Atwood, with whom she shared a deep and loving partnership until his passing. Lois was an alumna of the University of Nebraska and the University of Texas, Corpus Christi State University, where she cultivated her love for learning and developed her passions. Lois was a talented homemaker who found joy in cooking, gardening, and sewing, with a particular fondness for quilting. She cherished her family, including her daughter Janet Gaskamp, son Stephen Atwood, and her beloved dogs. Lois was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockport, where she contributed her time and talents to the community. 

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Jon) Gaskamp; son, Stephen C. (LeAnn) Atwood; grandchildren, Sarah (Bill) Hamilton, Jill Gaskamp, Mackenze, Makayla (fiancé Dylan Zamani), and Makade Atwood; as well as great-grandchildren Rowan and Graham Hamilton. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Janet Sigwart; her husband, Steve Atwood; and her brother, Paul Sigwart. A memorial service will be held on August 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockport, Texas. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lois's life and the love she shared with all who knew her.
