Lois Amason

Lois Jean Amason, Age 86. Passed away peacefully Friday morning August 20, 2021, in Rockport, Tx.

She is preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Lois Oats Griffis;  her husband Weldon Amason; Sister-in-law Wanda Griffis.

She is survived by two sons, Wayland (Chris), and Sheldon (Valerie); Granddaughter Kendra Amason Schroeder (Jason) and, great-grandchildren Lily, Zoey, and Wyatt. She also leaves behind brothers Jerry and Tommy Griffis (Emma); Sister Barbara Jenkins (Gene) and Wanda Wells (David) along with several nieces and nephews.

Lois Jean was a life-long resident of Portland, Texas. She was a devoted homemaker who loved and lived a simple life.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Palms Memorial Cemetery, Portland, Texas.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Bruce, the nurses, and the staff at Gulf Point Plaza in Rockport, Texas. And the nurses from Harbor Hospice who took care and, kept Lois comfortable in her last days. You are all a true blessing, and we are very grateful for your devotion.
