Linda Cobb

January 19, 1958 — March 27, 2026

Rockport

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Cobb on March 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born on January 19, 1958, in Cotulla, Texas, to James and Dorthie Mays Hamlett (Earnest). She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved stepfather, Elmer "Bitty" Earnest; her husband of over 30 years, A.D.

"Dickie" Cobb; and her brothers, Gordon B.

Hamlett and Benny M. Hamlett.

She is survived by the joy of her life, her son, Ty Dixon Cobb of Houston; her sisters, Suzanne Isenhower of Cedar Hill and Dorthie (Rick) Black of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; her stepson, A.D. "Beau" (D D) Cobb IV of San Antonio; and her brother, Horace "Jim" Hamlett of Houston. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who were very dear to her heart, along with her beloved pets-Dakota, Tillie, Bella, and her parrot, Louie-whom she lovingly considered her "other children."

Linda attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville and spent much of her adult life running Cobweb Ranch in Beeville alongside her husband, Dickie-years she truly cherished. Later, she moved to Lamar, Texas, where she built a home for herself and became an active member of the Lamar Woman's Club.

Linda loved life. She traveled extensively, enjoyed fine dining, and cherished hiking trips in Colorado.

She was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Texas Golf Association. Above all, she treasured her family and friends. She was a warm and giving friend, a beloved aunt, a devoted sister, a loving wife, and a dedicated mother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.

Linda was a strong supporter of many charitable causes, especially those benefiting children. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Volunteer Fire Department, Harbor Hospice, or a children's charity of your choice.

Arrangements made through Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, TX. Special thanks to Harbor Hospice of Rockport, TX.
