It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Leonardo “Leo” Campos, age 18, on July 9, 2025, in Aransas Pass, Texas. Born on March 8, 2007, in Cuero, Texas, Leo was a bright light in the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and boundless enthusiasm.
A dedicated student, Leo was an active participant in various sports, excelling in football, basketball, track, tennis, and weightlifting. His passion for athletics was matched only by his love for music, as he proudly contributed to the school band. Leo's compassionate heart shone through in his pursuit of a nursing program, where he cultivated a deep desire to care for others, reflecting his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around him.
Leo's spirit thrived in the great outdoors, particularly when fishing with friends, sharing joyful moments that will forever echo in their hearts. He cherished his time spent with loved ones, relishing the camaraderie of his friends and community. A devoted churchgoer, Leo found solace and strength in his faith, serving as an inspiration to many.
He is survived by his loving mother, Margarita Vann; his father, Leonardo Campos; brother, Gerardo J. Arriaga; grandmother, Arminda Martinez; aunts, Norma A. Bratten and Marlen Soto; cousins, Javier Garcia, Eric Castillo, Isabel Rosas, Ruby Castillo, Litzy Rosas; and his special friend, Madelynn Falcon. Each of these relationships mirrored the breadth of Leo's character, showcasing the bonds of family and friendship that enriched his life.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Following the visitation, we will gather to celebrate Leo's life at a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Honoring the spirit of a young man whose essence will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
As we reflect on the joyous moments shared, we invite everyone whose lives were touched by Leo to join us in commemorating his remarkable journey. Let us unite to celebrate a vibrant soul whose laughter and kindness will echo through the lives he touched.
