Kurt Robert Peterson, 49, passed away on May 20, 2024 in Corpus Christi, TX.

He was born October 22, 1974 in Omaha, Nebraska to Robert Andrew Peterson and Karen Elizabeth Henderson Peterson, and was the fourth of five children.

Kurt graduated from Ingleside High School in 1993, where he was active in many sports and  enjoyed going to the beach, surfing, fishing, and crabbing.  After high school, Kurt became an electrician and enjoyed that career. Because of his career, he traveled a lot and was able to see many parts of the country.  Kurt got involved in woodworking and enjoyed making projects for the family.  He was an excellent chef and enjoyed spending time preparing meals for his mother during her fight with cancer. He was a very loving uncle to his nephew and nieces, being the “entertainment committee” at many family functions when they were young. He was there for many games, activities and graduations as they grew older.  Kurt is remembered by his family as the “fun one”; he lit up a room when he came in.  He had a contagious laugh and brought smiles to all.

Kurt is preceded in death by his loving mother, Karen Elizabeth Peterson.  He is survived by his father, Robert Peterson, of Corpus Christi, TX;  his siblings:  John Peterson (Kristi) of Shiner, TX, Laura Swink (Bubba) of Schertz, TX, Matthew Peterson (Elaine) of Ingleside, Stephanie Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX;  and Aunt Jane Wilson, of Austin, as well as his nieces Karyn Rode, Leah Swink, Sarah Swink, Amber Peterson, Alyssa Peterson, Macy Gonzales, Teagan Gonzales, Maia Peterson, his nephew, Ryan Peterson, great niece Lauryn Rode and numerous cousins.

The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate Kurt’s life.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

For those that wish to celebrate Kurt’s life and reminisce about the good times, the Blue Marlin Saloon, 3006 Surfside Blvd, has shared they will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Kurt on June 2, 2024 at 3pm.
