July 3, 2022, Kathryn “Kathy” Ann Woodman at the age of 66 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
Kathy was born in Houston TX June 22, 1956, and resided in Rockport TX for much of her life. In her early years, she worked as a bartender at the Duck Inn & Sand dollar pavilion where her friends became family. Her favorite place in the world was sitting on the Frio River with a good book and a cold beer. She loved all animals, even fed the squirrels in the backyard, and named them all Pete. She loved camping, working in her yard, and listening to the music sung by the love of her life, George Strait.
Kathy never met a stranger. She was kind and loved everyone. Her children’s friends referred to her as mom and loved all her grandkids, related or not.
In her later years when she started to fall ill often, the medical team grew attached to her spunky and witty personality. Kathy was one of a kind and she will be missed greatly by everyone.
Kathy’s illness unfortunately took her mobility to walk. On her last birthday, 11 days before her passing, she sat on the beach in Port Aransas for the first time in years. She enjoyed her last beer as she watched her youngest grandkids play.
She is proceeded to death by her parents Bill & Mary Kathryn Coleman.
She is survived by her brothers Bill and John Coleman.
Her daughters Cayla (Jason) Perez and Kathryn “Katy” Coleman; a son Joshua Valdez; grandchildren Caiden Weinrich, Holden Perez and Gianna Perez, Kasey Dehtan and Karson Anthony, Arron, Kasi, Ali, Alek Valdez.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 15, starting at 1:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport. Followed by a celebration of life beginning at 2:00 pm
