Karon Wright

Karon Vanderburg Wright, 72, passed away May 31, 2023, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Charles and Patricia Vanderburg, December 29, 1950 in Houston, Texas. Karon graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1969.

She married Richard Wright in 1994, and they lived together in Aransas Pass for twenty eight years. Karon is survived by two children:  Calvin Murphy and his wife, Laurie of Houston; and Scott Murphy and his wife Christin of Lake Charles. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Connor, Claire, Carter, Taylor, Jacob, and Hayden. She is also survived by her brother and sister: Jerry Vanderburg and his wife Patrice and Sharon White and her husband Bobby.

Karon was a passionate animal lover. She had many dogs and horses that she cared for and was always looking to add to her family.  Karon was a great baker and was known for her great chocolate and coconut cream pies. In the evenings you could usually find Karon at the bowling alley, she loved bowling and her bowling community.

The graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on June 3, 2023 at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.
