It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Elaine Hearn Barre, of Rockport, Texas, on March 8, 2026, at the age of 78.
Judy was born in Georgetown, Texas, on July 5, 1947, to Johnnie David Hearn and Neomia Louise Sherry. She was the eighth of nine children. She graduated from Yoakum High School in 1965 and married her high school sweetheart, Larry Barre, on March 18, 1967.
Work led them to Victoria and eventually to Rockport, where she worked as a secretary for Bracht Lumber Co. and later as the office secretary for Barre Electric Company, the business Larry operated for 38 years. Judy and Larry shared a loving marriage filled with many wonderful memories.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judy is survived by her husband, Larry Barre of Rockport; her daughters, Melissa Solis (John) of Rockport and Laura Haley (Phillip) of Rockport; five grandchildren, Justin Solis (Jordy), Jeremy Solis (JoAnna), Ashley Cheramie (Jake), Hannah Gutierrez (Matthew), and Courtney Haley (Mason Lloyd); and five great-grandchildren, Carter Solis, Carlee Solis, Cash Solis, Carson Lloyd, and Riley Lloyd. She is also survived by three siblings: Lois Foxell, Jimmy Hearn (Della), and Jewel Spree (Delton).
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Ruby Herzog, Jack Hearn, Letha Rust, Johnny Hearn, and Elroy Hearn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, 814 E. Main St., Rockport, Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, with Kim Barre officiating.
Immediately following the service, interment will take place at Fulton Cemetery, 316 Myrtle St., Rockport, Texas.
