Juan Gonzalez, 70, of Ingleside, Texas, (formerly of Aransas Pass and La Grulla, Texas) passed away peacefully at his home on September 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 27, 1954 in Rio Grande City, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Epigmenio Sr. and Josefa Gonzalez, and his nephew Kevin Martinez.
Juan devoted his life to his family, faith, and hard work. He was a skilled welder by trade, but his true passion was being with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Juan was the beloved husband of 46 years to Janie R. Gonzalez. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He was the proud father of 3 children: Roxanne (Jason) Woodard of Annaville, Omar (Christina) Gonzalez of Portland, Johnny (Sunny) Gonzalez of Ingleside. He was also a treasured grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Jaykob (Coleen), Michael, Juliana, John Carter, Noah, Kennedy, Violet, Scarlet, Jasmine, and Brooklyn. His family was his greatest blessing, and he found immense joy in being “Popo” to each of them.
Juan is also survived by his 7 Siblings: Joe (Luisa) Gonzalez, Javier (Gloria) Gonzalez, Epigmenio Jr (Nelda) Gonzalez, Nora (Arturo) Palacios, Rene (Bonnie) Gonzalez, Rosa Gonzalez-Lozano, Oscar (Maritza) Gonzalez.
A welder by trade for 48 years, Juan worked hard and took pride in his craft. Outside of work, he found happiness in simple things—chasing his grandchildren, caring for his plants, sharing laughter, and making everyone around him smile with his humor and playful spirit.
Juan’s legacy of love, faith, and laughter will live on through the family he cherished so deeply. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to honor Juan life during the following services: a public viewing will be held on September 9, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass; a rosary will be recited that evening at 6:00 PM.
