Juan Jose Castillo, age 74, passed from this earthly life on September 17, 2026 in Rockport, TX; surrounded by his wife, daughters, and all his loved ones. Juan was born in Houston, TX. on June 11, 1952 to Emilio Castillo (father) and Guadalupe Castillo (mother).

He was married to Alicia “Licha” Castillo on August 15, 1970 and they were blessed with 56 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emilio Castillo and Guadalupe Castillo; brother Ruben Castillo; and sisters Oralia Longoria, Rebecca Gonzales, and Ophelia Castillo.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia “Licha” Castillo; his three daughters, Teresa Roher of Houston, Gloria Flores (Vincent) of Rockport, and Stacy Edlin of Rockport. He is also survived by six grandchildren, beginning with the eldest: Kaylin Roher, Karisa Roher, Cass Flores, Carsen Flores, Bryce Edlin, and Nathan Edlin. He is survived by one sister, Olga Castillo.

He was gifted with his hands as a carpenter and could fix almost anything brought to him. He loved fishing with his brother and his family. Juan’s family was his greatest accomplishment and he was incredibly proud of each and every one of them. His family will miss him using tortillas as forks; listening to Tejano music; and sharing his quick, go-to sayings.
