Joe Alcala Vasquez, 76, of Port Aransas, Texas passed Away on August 14, 2023. Joe was born in Alice, Tx. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1966-1970 in Vietnam and his military decorations include two Vietnam Campaign Medals, five Vietnam Service Medals, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was a Port Aransas Ferry Captain and finished 30 years of civil service at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed taking his grandchildren on various trips to enjoy the great fish and game that Texas provides.

Joe is Survived by his wife of 54 Years, Janie Vasquez, sister Vicenta Mora, Children Joe Jr. (Leslie) of Aransas Pass, Janette (Noel) Fusso of California, and Jon (Eileen) of Texas, Grandchildren Jonathan, Skyler, Christopher, Casey, Marcus, Alyssa, Trey and Juan. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home.
