Jose was known by many names. His brothers and sisters called him “Lalo”, while his kids called him “Dad” or “Pop”, his grandkids called him “Popo”, and friends and neighbors referred to him as “Jerry”. In his Army days he answered to “JRod”, and that was always called out in a shout. He was proud of his service in the Army. Jerry was a marine electrician by trade. He worked as a net repairman in the shrimping industry for many years and later as a journeyman electrician for Gulf Copper. He loved motorcycles and tinkering on cars and trucks. He was an all around handy-man when it came to fixing things or remodeling. Most of all, he was a jokester. He loved to make his family laugh with his zany antics at times, and he also loved to barbecue for them. His greatest love was family. Family meals and gatherings were a huge source of joy for him, and his family will continue to celebrate his memory for many years to come. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.
