Jose Miranda Arjona Sr (Joe) July 22, 1943 - July 18, 2026

Joe was born in Refugio Texas to Felix Arjona and Guadalupe Miranda Arjona. Joe was raised and lived in Refugio until he met his love of 42 years, Janie Hernandez and they settled in Rockport, TX. Together Joe and Janie had 5 children, twins, Dora and Dorothy (Jesse Romero), Joe Jr (Karen), Ann Marie, and Charlie (Olga), 10 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his lovely wife Janie, and children, Dora and Dorothy, son-in-law Jesse and daughter-in-law Angie, brother Felix Arjona, and sisters Mary Lou Rivera, Guadalupe Olgin, and Juanita Trevino.

 Joe made a living as a welder and pipe cutter, but his real passion was woodworking and painting. He spent many hours in his workshop creating outdoor swings, planters, bird condos, benches, yard decorations and any item his kids and grandkids needed. He also never met a yard he didn't like to mow. Joe never was a fan of sports, but you would find him at the parks, fields, and gyms cheering on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe enjoyed frequenting his "local mall" Castaways and Taqueria Puerto Vallarta where he made great friends and had amazing conversations. Joe made a huge impact on many lives and will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 11:00am until 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes in Rockport, Texas. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 10:00 am also at Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes in Rockport. Entombment will follow at the Aransas Memorial Park Cemetery in Rockport, Texas.
