Jordan Mcdonald

Jordan McDonald, 98, of Rockport, Texas, passed away August 15th, 2021. He was also known by his nickname, “Mack”. He was preceded in death by his father William G. McDonald, of Port Neches, Texas and his mother Clarice Maxwell McDonald of Abbeville, LA.; his three siblings Beatrice McDonald England, Wylene McDonald Outlaw and Harold McDonald of Port Neches, Texas. Jordan graduated from High School in Port Neches, Texas in 1940. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served on the military ordnance crew aboard the USS Intrepid in World War II. Jordan was a veteran of many naval campaigns in the Pacific during the war, including Luzon, the Marshall Islands (Kwajalein), the Carolines Islands (Truk) and the Solomon Islands. After his discharge, Mack returned to Louisiana where he met and married, Jimmie F. Rhodes (1952-1959). Mack and Jimmie began a family by having two children, Michael and Kathy McDonald, both born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After several years in Louisiana, the family relocated to Houston, Texas.
He was a very loving and caring father throughout his lifetime. Jordan was an entrepreneurial business man who started his own company, Houston Insulators, Inc, and ran it successfully with his son for over forty years. Later in life, he met Virginia Lipman, of Stafford, Texas, of whom he shared a partnership with for over twenty years. The two spent time traveling and fishing, and taking great RV road trips across the US with his grand-daughters. He was preceded in death by Virginia in 2016.
He is survived by his son Mike McDonald and his wife Stephanie McDonald of Rockport, Texas, his daughter Kathy McDonald and dear friend, Joey Peters of Wimberley, Texas; two grandchildren, Jessica McDonald Carter and her husband Justin Carter of Montgomery, Texas and Clarissa McDonald of Dallas, Texas.
He has two beautiful great-grandchildren, Ellie and Isla Carter. Jordan enjoyed working hard and playing harder, his hobbies included gardening, fishing, outdoor grilling and playing dominoes. He made daily walks around his neighborhood up until his last day.

A private family service (Covid-19 restrictions) will be held for Jordan in Rockport, Texas. The family will be having a Celebration of Life gathering in the near
future for other family members, as well as dear friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Lamar Volunteer Fire Department 302 Bois D’Arc St. Lamar, Texas 78382.
