**Obituary for John Collier Roberts**

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Collier Roberts, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. John was born on November 18, 1949, in Alice, Texas, and departed from us on May 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A proud Marine, John served his country honorably during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of dedication and sacrifice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Volmer and Lucille Roberts, and his beloved sister, Cinthia Waggoner. His memories will forever be cherished by his brother, Dan Roberts, and his sister, Carol Knudsen. John is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews: Tyler Jay Roberts, Barry Lynn Brandon, Douglas Brandon, Cheryl McGuire, and Stephanie Brandon, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

John had a special affinity for the outdoors, relishing the thrill of saltwater fishing, the excitement of bird and duck hunting, and the tranquility that came with spending time on his boat. His laid-back nature was matched only by his curiosity, as he loved to tinker with things around the house, always ready with the right tool for every job. A gentle soul, John enjoyed watching the news, staying informed, and engaging with family over lively discussions.

John will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives. May he find peace, and may we carry forward his legacy of love and camaraderie.
