Rockport

Jimmy Wayne Hattenbach, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on September 25, 1951, in Rockport, TX, he was the son of George and Ruth Hattenbach. Jimmy's warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jimmy spent his life as a dedicated diesel mechanic, proudly working for Brazos Paving Inc., where his skills and expertise were truly valued. His passion for heavy equipment and his unwavering work ethic were a testament to the man he was—always ready to lend a helping hand, not just to his colleagues but to friends and family alike. He accomplished many things throughout his life such as, being the Fire Chief of Fulton Volunteer Fire Department, a Three time Texas State Pumper Racing Champion, the President of the Aransas County Emergency Core, the President of the Rockport-Fulton Soccer Association, the President of the Fulton Oysterfest Committee, and a City Councilman for the town of Fulton, Texas, and many other individual achievements.

He is survived by Glenda Hattenbach (Wife), Jimmy Hattenbach II (Son), Dewey Hattenbach (Son), Mario Garcia III (Son), Christina Hattenbach (Daughter-in-law), Emily Hattenbach (Granddaughter), Addison Block (Granddaughter), Caleb Block (Grandson), Cheryl Garcia (Granddaughter), Carter Garcia (Grandson), Jax Garcia(Grandson), Ashtian Garcia (Grandson), Karleigh Garcia (Granddaughter), Destin Husser (Grandson), Oakley Husser (Great-granddaughter), Katherine Womack (Sister) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, and his father, George, who both instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity.

As we remember Jimmy, let us hold tightly to the memories of his laughter, his wisdom, and the way he could light up a room. He may be gone, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
