Jimmie Carol Hart

Jimmie Carol (Freeland) Hart was born May 3, 1938 and passed from this world at the age of 87 on July 31, 2025 in the Woodlands, Texas.

Jimmie graduated from Aransas Pass High School where she met the love of her life of 55 years, James “Jim” Hart. She worked at KTBC – TV and as a secretary in the engineering department at the University of Texas in Austin. She chose her life’s work as a homemaker and providing a loving home for her husband and children. She dearly loved her family.

Jimmie was a devout Christian, who placed her membership at numerous Churches of Christ, wherever she lived. She taught children and ladies Bible classes for many years. She loved little children and they loved her back. Her smile and sweet spirit was contagious.

Survivors include her four children, Jennifer Simmons of Sugarland, and Jill (Steve) Tankersley of the Woodlands, James Jason (Kim) Hart of Lamar and Jodi (Brian) Hart-Young of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was loved as Mema or Memaw by 10 grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Adams, Luke (Jennifer) Downey, Brian (Trisha) Downey, Erica (Trey) Fosdick, Jami Hart, Heather (Greg) Holmes, Brittani (Blaise) Keller, Mat (Lacey) Tankersley, Justice (Danyelle) Hart, Anthony (Lyndsey) Garcia; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Mildred, Crystal, BB, Jamie, and several other caregivers for the excellent care and love shown to our mother.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 4pm-6pm at Charlie Marshall Aransas Pass. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 11am at Charlie Marshall Aransas Pass, followed by a graveside service at Prairie View Cemetery.
