Jessie Carol Chatwell

Jessie Carol Chatwell, 85, of Rockport, Texas, left this world for heaven on May 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unshakable faith. Born in Big Spring, Texas, to Jesse and Minnie Luce, Jessie’s vibrant spirit was evident from the start. Her life was filled with adventure, song, and devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Known for her sweet, unique voice and her warm greeting of “Hi, Honey!” Jessie was the heart of every gathering. She loved to dance, sing, and bring people together, whether teaching her grandchildren to clog and crochet or sharing her love of Dolly Parton. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life made her the most fun-loving mother and grandmother, crafting unforgettable memories for her family. Above all, she cherished her husband, Jimmie, her sons, and her family, pouring love into every moment spent with them. 

Jessie is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmie Chatwell; her sons, Jimmy Chatwell (Danna), Richard Chatwell (Julia), and David Chatwell (Dannie); her grandchildren, Cathy Harding, Sheri Hadley, Becki Mendoza, Rocky Chatwell, and Sarah Root; and her great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Harding, Alison Harding, Shane Hadley, Weston Hadley, Shelby Hadley, David Mendoza, Samuel Mendoza, Emma Root, and Ellie Root .

A family viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, 2003 W Wheeler Ave., Aransas Pass, TX 78336, with visitors welcome from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Rockport Cemetery, 2040 Tule Park Dr., Rockport, TX 78382. 

Jessie’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to share a dance, sing a song, or plan an adventure in her honor.
