Aransas Pass, Texas

Jerry Lynn Tyson Sr. known to many as JL or "Pops", of Aransas Pass passed away February 05, 2022, he was 84. surrounded by family. JL was born in Hamilton, Texas on July 09, 1937 to the late Albert H. and Jo Bernice Tyson.

After high school he proudly served in the US Navy where he was also a part of the Boxing Team. J went on to work in the Petro-Chemical industry retiring from DuPont in 2002 after 29 years of service.

He had a love for Polka "Om Pah Pah" music and cherry bomb glass pack mufflers, the louder the better! You would rarely see him without his fully starched jeans, shirt, western hat, and round colored sunglasses that were a style all his own. He always had a smile, the weather update and a story to tell you if you had time to listen. Since his retirement he kept his work schedule hours of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and made his rounds daily visiting the Stripes, Walmart, and/or HEB. He would have his breakfast pancakes at McDonald's, San Juan or his favorite The Bakery Café, and lunch at the Butter Churn along with "the boys" where they would all catch up on the daily news. Playing dominoes and visiting at the Ingleside Senior Citizens Center was the afternoon agenda and he truly loved his time there. He could be described as stubborn at times but he was loved and he will be dearly missed by family and friends alike.

There to greet him in Heaven are his brothers, Billy Tyson and Bobby (Vicki) Tyson; Great Grandson, Troy Flanigan (Son of Marissa Mathisen).

Left behind to remember him are his wife of 43 years Carol and his extended family with her Stepsons; Eugene Gaines, and John Gaines; Stepdaughter; Virginia Gaines;  Grandchildren, Heather, Ashlee, John Tyler, Sarah, and Chad; Great Grandchildren; Meilah, Jaela, and Ashton.
