Jerry D. Poole, 63, of Rockport, TX, passed away on February 17, 2026, in Rockport, TX. He was born in Texarkana.
Jerry graduated from Fredonia High School in 1981 before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, where he proudly played football for the Wildcats. He later received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, equipping him for a distinguished and entrepreneurial career.
Jerry possessed a bold entrepreneurial spirit and was instrumental in launching several successful ventures throughout his professional life. He approached business with vision, determination, and integrity — the same qualities that defined him personally.
Above all, Jerry loved his family fiercely. He and his forever partner, Cheri, recently celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage — a testament to their deep love, faith, and unwavering partnership. Together, along with many close friends, they shared adventures across the globe, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
An avid outdoorsman, Jerry found great joy in bird hunting, African big game hunting, and fly fishing. Whether in the field, on the water, or traveling the world, he embraced life fully and enthusiastically. He was a man of strong faith and true moral character, guided by his principles and devotion to those he loved. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Cheri Poole of Rockport, TX; his sons, Dillon Poole (Kelly) of New York City, NY; Sean Poole (Leann) of Havre de Grace, MD; and Josh Poole of Bozeman, MT; his mother, Neva Poole of Tulsa, OK; his sister, Twyala Smith (John) of Dallas, TX; his brother-in-law, Michael Black (Tammy); his grandson, Liam Poole of Havre de Grace, MD; and his granddaughter, Ellianna Poole of Havre de Grace, MD.
He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Poole, and his grandparents.
Cremation will take place. No service is planned at this time. In honor of Jerry’s love of bird hunting, charitable donations may be made to Quail Forever.
Jerry will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, visionary businessman, and a man whose faith and character left a lasting imprint on all who knew him. His legacy of love, adventure, integrity, and devotion to family will live on for generations to come.
